Ex hazardous zone 0 includes enclosed spaces of a biogas plant where biogas is continuously or for a long time, in particular

a) fermentation tanks,

b) gas preparation equipment,

c) gas storage facilities,

(d) closed manure storage facilities; and

(e) gas wells, process pipelines and tanks interiors.

Ex hazardous zone 1 includes those areas of a biogas plant where biogas is expected to occur occasionally during normal operation, in particular:

a) a spherical space with a radius of 3 meters around the blowing, sampling, draining and dewatering points,

b) a spherical space with a radius of 1 meter around a pump located outdoors on or above ground level,

c) in the case of a pump located in the shaft or, in the case of an assembly and a flanged joint, the inside of the shaft,

(d) in the case of a pump located in a room, a spherical space with a radius of 3 meters around the pump.

Ex hazardous zone 2 includes those areas of a biogas plant where biogas is not expected to occur during normal operation, but if it does occur, it will only survive for a short time, so especially

a) a spherical space with a radius of 3 meters around the flanged joints (hiding opening),

b) an additional spherical space with a radius of 3 meters around the blasting, sampling, draining and dewatering points, beyond the spherical zone 1 with a radius of 3 meters,

c) an additional sphere with a radius of 3 m around the field pump at or above ground level, outside the spherical zone 1 with a radius of 1 m. shaped space,

d) the space above a shaft in zone 1 up to a height of 0,8 m and a width of 2 m around the edge of the shaft,

e) in the case of a pump located in a room, an additional spherical space with a radius of 3 m around the pump, beyond the spherical zone 1 with a radius of 3 meters.

If, during the establishment, a zoning of a different type and extent to be established, it shall be carried out in accordance with the standards or an equivalent technical solution. To prove this, the designer shall prepare a documentation containing the classification of Ex hazardous zones.

Always check all parameters of the HAC (hazardous area classification)!

Keep up good work!
