arpadveress with long years of Ex.perience for Ex compliance / Ex personnel competency trainings under various legislations such as ATEx – IECEx incl. Europe, ME, USA, Brasil, South Africa and many more few days back I have received a call from HR of the client:
“Why do you make one of the attendees quit? You scared the trainee during the training and next day he came back to us and said: “I am not willing to take the responsibility of explosion protection”.
Interestingly HR added one more sentence from the trainee: “specially under the conditions as usual you will make me responsible for this again, and I have just experienced from tutor: “Ex is not a one time action” and my budget is under continuous cutting off. I’d rather not go into a similar situation again.”
That made me think:
…”you scared…” – Ex compliance engineering is a further education, and like any restriction, framework – it shall be considered as a limitation to other disciplines or more over it is an orientation how to make it functionally happen under these Ex type of conditions.
…”as usual you will make me responsible for this again…” – Ex compliance engineering shall be in agreement with full understanding and support of complete management of site including ownership. It is not a one man job.
…”I am not willing to take the responsibility…” – any position related to hazardous area industries is about responsibility and delegaton of responsibilities. Ex compliance engineering immediately addresses all in charge.
