PPE for use in potentially explosive atmospheres PPE intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres must be designed and manufactured in such a way that it cannot be the source of an electric, electrostatic or impact-induced arc or spark likely to cause an explosive mixture to ignite.

Interestingly if it does not contain any electrical ignition sources, only manufacturer’s declaration is sufficient. If there is any, ATEX compliance is a must have. In all cases user’s responsibility to maintain safe usage.

PPE stands for personal protective equipment.

Keep up good work!
